Reader Profile

My chosen target audience are the ages of 16 to 25. I chose this as I found that the majority of modern indie/ rock are fairly young still, were, as the more older rock lovers tend to listen to classic rock. I’ve chosen to aim my magazine predominantly towards Males as there is a wider ranged audience for males with types of rock than there is women, however I am also including certain aspects of the magazine that will be aimed towards the female readers but still following the genre of music I am aiming to portray. To suit my audiences needs the adverts I will include, will need to be suited to the style of the bands featured as well. Such things as black converse, guitar shops, skinny jeans and leather jackets will be included as part of the ‘get the look’ articles. Because of the age group I have chosen, they will most likely be students or just out of university, this will mean that to cater to their needs the magazine cant cost to much otherwise they will not be able to afford it. Also because of the growing popularity with social networking sites such as ‘Facebook’ and ‘Twitter’ within teenagers and young adult, I think that these sites would be the best places to put adverts and promotions for the magazines and bands featured as this will increase the popularity of the product and help to create a name for the magazine.
