when creating my mock-up i took into consideration the conventions of a magazine and how the layout of them work to create an eye catching and professional looking magazine. such things as the Masthead, Cover lines, Barcode and the main image are the key feature to any magazine in order to follow the conventions and expectations of the reader. for this mock-up i followed the colour scheme of greens, white and browns. i chose these colours as i thought that i could link the layout with the colours on the clothing of the band 'All Time Low'. however i found this difficult to do as the cover lines wouldn't stand out. i found that the image didn't give me enough options to work with the colour scheme as make the mock-up look realistic. i also found that because of this, my mock-up didn't truly reflect my chosen genre but instead started to look similar to a 'Pop' magazine and also looked very bland and not eye catching. for my future magazine drafts i will take into consideration these aspects when taking my photos and creating the layout to my magazine.
